Even though El Paredon in Guatemala is a small coastal town, there is a considerable amount of accommodation available, ranging from basic to luxury options. In my recommendation of the top 5 hotels in El Paredon Guatemala, I include those that best meet my criteria for relaxation, comfort, atmosphere, and friendly service.

1. Ka’ana Surf

Ka’ana Surf is the epitome of comfort, elegance, and outstanding service, welcoming both adults and children. It is one of those places you never want to leave. I especially loved the spacious rooms, luxurious beds, and dreamy bathrooms. Plus, the water in the showers is always hot, something you will not find in many other hotels in El Paredon.

The pool is big and has warm water; and the master suite has a private pool on the terrace. The breakfast menu has lots of variety and the main focus of the dinner menu is seafood. You can also take surf lessons and rent your surfboard in Ka’ana.

This romantic and cozy hotel in El Paredon boasts good taste in every space and in its architecture. It is no wonder that it is one of the top 5 hotels in El Paredon Guatemala. Some of the rooms have a terrace with a view of the sea, while others are right by the pool. The bathrooms are spacious and have open-air showers. The service and comfort standards are high, and this is reflected in the attention to detail by the staff. Plus, Swell is one of the best places to take private surf lessons and rent a surfboard.

3. Mellow

If you enjoy meeting new people while travelling, Mellow is the perfect hotel for you. With its welcoming atmosphere, you can easily mingle in the common areas near the restaurant and pool or join the game area on the second floor. Get involved in their game nights and communal dinners for a truly memorable experience.

The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. Mellow has tipi-style double rooms with palapa-roofs (made of dried palm leaves), as well as double suites and shared rooms with several beds. Most of the rooms have shared bathrooms, and the shower and toilet areas are always kept clean. The pristine cleanliness is apparent right away and is a highlight in their reviews. The hotel offer tours, yoga sessions, surf lessons and surfboard rentals.

The location of Cocori Lodge is perfect, right on the beach in front of the surf break. If you are an experienced surfer, this is the place for you. The hotel features large common areas and the biggest pool in all of El Paredon. Rooms, bungalows, and shared bathrooms are all kept to a high standard of cleanliness. Cocori Lodge is open to both adults and children.

Something I really love is the small gym and yoga deck, both in open air spaces. The hotel offers surf lessons and surfboard rentals. The restaurant has a really great menu, so it is usually busy. Plus, the bar is always lively in the afternoons and evenings.

If you are looking for a party-filled stay, this is the hotel for you. Nevertheless, the private rooms are far enough away from the music. The beds are comfortable, and the shared bathrooms are spacious. There is a pool bar, and on the second floor a restaurant boasting an amazing panoramic view of the sea. You can also enjoy several activities with other guests: beach volleyball, pool billiard, table tennis and yoga.

Its beachfront location makes it perfect for renting a surfboard or taking surf lessons offered by the staff. The Driftwood Surfer has a great selection of activities that can be booked at reception, including mangrove tours, SUP, and turtle release.
